  • People living in special housing (SÄBO).

Information about Moderna's vaccine for people born 1991 and later

The Swedish Public Health Agency has decided to pause the use of Moderna's vaccine Spikevax for everyone born 1991 and later. The cause is an increased risk of side effects.

  • If you belong to the age group and have received one dose, you must wait until more information is available, most likely in December. There is currently not a clearly increased risk of side effects after the first dose and you have a strong protection against serious illness after one dose.
  • If you belong to the age group and have received two doses, do not worry. The risk for side effects are increasing after dose two, but are still very small.
  • If you belong to the age group and are waiting for your first dose, you will be given Pfizer's vaccine.

Young people aged 16-18

Everyone born in 2005 or earlier is now being offered vaccination. The purpose of vaccinating from the age of 16 is primarily to protect young people against the disease, but also to further reduce the spread of infection in society.

In order to vaccinate young people born in 2005-2004, consent from one legal guardian is required or the child must be deemed to be sufficiently mature to make the decision about vaccination themselves. As the legal guardian, you can either accompany your child to the vaccination unit and give your consent or sign a consent form that your child can take with them and show at the vaccination appointment. You can sign and print the consent form here (in Swedish).
